Edinburgh

Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland and makes an unforgettable impression with historic hilly landscape atop a series of extinct volcanoes.

Since at least the fifteenth century, Edinburgh has been regarded as Scotland's capital. It is home to the Scottish Parliament, the Scottish Government, and Scotland's highest courts. The British monarchy's formal Scottish residence is the Palace of Holyroodhouse. For a long time, the city has been a hub for learning, especially in the fields of medicine, Scottish law, literature, philosophy, the sciences, and engineering. The city's historical and cultural features have elevated it to the UK's second-most popular tourist destination, drawing 4.9 million visitors in 2018, including 2.4 million from overseas. It is the second-largest financial centre in the United Kingdom.

There are some of my views of Edinburgh that I photographed in my many visits to the city.
